Ashford Women's Volleyball Camps

Sign up now for the 2010 Ashford University Women's Volleyball Camps. This year we have added many camps including our Individual Position Camps. This will be a great opportunity for those in high school looking to further their skills in the position they wish to excel. We are offering our Setters Camp, Hitters Camp and Libero’s Camp. All position camps will include intense training and individual player repetitions. Serving will also be included in each position camp, as we see the need to start our players early with a diverse and unique serving ability.

This year we will look to intensify our "Champs Invite" High School Team Camp. This will be a great opportunity for local high school teams to compete in our annual Bragging Rights “Iowa vs Illinois” varsity team competition. The camp will include several Iowa high schools competing against several Illinois high schools. What a great opportunity to play schools that you normally will not play during the volleyball season that live right across the great Mississippi River.

Our annual All Skills Middle School Camp will include several aspects of volleyball including: basic fundamentals, conditioning drills, serving/passing drills, attacking drills, setting drills, team defensive drills, team offensive drills, team bonding games and a camp-concluding tournament. Awards will be given to individual campers including Most Outstanding Player, Most Improved Player, Best Defensive Player and the Best Attitude/Hustle Award. Awards will also be given to camp’s team tournament champs!

For those adults who send their daughters to camp, we have some volleyball news for you as well. We are hosting our 5th Annual “Deep Dish” Adult Volleyball Tournament. This is a grass, coed 4’s tournament at the Ericksen Center in Clinton, IA on July 4, 2010. This is one of the only grass tournaments during the 4th of July weekend in the area. We had a great turnout last year and expect to double our entries for teams this summer. Cash prizes are awarded for those finishing 1st place in the both the lower and upper division. This is also a fundraiser for the Ashford University Volleyball Team.

All athletes in the Clinton community and surrounding areas are encouraged to come and experience the great and exceptional volleyball program at Ashford University. Guest speakers will include Micah Cewe, Head Volleyball Coach at Ashford University and Assistant Volleyball Coach, Jason Anderson. The camp will also feature the 2010 Saints Volleyball Team who finished in the top half of the Midwest Collegiate Conference and finished with a school, record breaking twenty-two wins last season.
