College Coaches Skills Camp
Featuring Brent Alwine
Brent Alwine enters his first season as assistant coach for the Creighton baseball program. His primary duties will be working with the outfielders, while also assisting with hitting.
Prior to coming to Omaha, Alwine worked at IPFW, at the conclusion of his time as a player. As a player he concluded an impressive college career at IPFW in 2006 posting a .311 career batting average. Alwine also tallied a career fielding percentage as a four year starter at second base, of .951.
This past July he coached a team in Puerto Rico, as part of Coast to Coast Baseball.
Alwine spent the 2006 and 2007 summer as an instructor at Greylock sports camp. The Greylock camp is a prestigious summer camp for boys ages 6-16, that spans over two months, held in Becket, Massachusetts. He was responsible for fundamental instruction and coordinating work outs.
During his time in Fort Wayne, Ind., Coach Alwine worked with the IPFW infielders and hitters. Alwine also assisted in other aspects of the program, such as compliance and recruiting.
Brent is a graduate of North Miami High School in Mexico, Ind., and graduated from IPFW in 2006 with a degree in OLS. He is completing his masters degree in Liberal Studies from IPFW. Brent is engaged to Brandi Alspach.
